Our Pastor

Dave Forsberg

Reverend David Forsberg

Reverend David Forsberg is honored to serve as Pastor and Teacher at First Congregational United Church of Christ.

He holds a Master of Divinity Degree from Ecumenical Theological Seminary in Detroit. Forsberg also received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Northern Michigan University in speech and journalism.

Prior to arriving at FCC, Forsberg was a short-term pastor at First Congregational United Church of Christ, in Union City. He was also a Licensed Minister at the multidenominational Peoples Church in East Lansing.

Dave was called to parish ministry with the help of not only the Holy Spirit but also because of his experiences at Fortune Lake Bible Camp in the Upper Peninsula and hearing the musical Jesus Christ Superstar when it first came out years ago. His ministry is driven by the call to love our neighbors as ourselves and the United Church of Christ’s proclamation to “Be the Church.”

Outside of ministry, the Marquette native has amassed more than 40 years of combined experience in print and broadcast journalism and community, government, and public relations. Dave has been active in the community, including serving on the Board of Directors of the Michigan Historic Preservation Network. He also participated in the Lansing Corporate Hockey League and its annual fundraiser for local charities.
